Paul Goodnight was invited by an organization to visit an amputee camp in Sierra Leone in late 2012. Paul had the opportunity to get to know the residents of the camp, both men and women survivors who have lived through the horror as well as their families. The piece shown hear documents the life and resiliency of one womenwho passed away shortly before he arrived at the camp. Her son told Paul her story.
The images shown here are both the preliminary drawings and the beginnings of the painting he is working on. The painting will be auctioned to help raise educational funds to support the survivors and residents of the camp.
